Pros and cons of Washington Post Select app for iPhone and iPad

Washington Post Select app good for

Clear, impartial, elaborate, excellent. I am a french reader of this newspaper and my English is pretty bad to explain that I think but I can say that, for me, reading this newspaper is very interesting not only to try to increase my English level but also to understand the word.
Nice way to be updated. Nicest way to call for a permanent signature.
I really like this format. Integrated videos, as well as links to other articles. I have and use all major news apps, and this is my favorite.
This is the best "newspaper" app Ive ever used. Retains the look, feel, depth, and story diversity of a newspaper, with the advantage of convenience and keeping your fingers clean. Alas, heres the rub: You have to pay a monthly subscription fee. The price is reasonable, but ultimately I decided to cancel my subscription when the free trial expired -- but I still think this is a excellent app, and recommend you give it a try.
This is a well designed newspaper app. It is intuitive and user friendly with great features.
These days I pick my news apps by which good newspaper has the nicest app. the washington post is the new winner. the app lets you browse articles well, the pictures are large and when you want to read, the user interface doesnt get in the way

Some bad moments

Im not sure how many stars to give it, since it works adequately (3-4) stars on my iPhone 6s Plus but simply doesnt work on my iPad Pro, the latter being the device on which I do most of my reading. On the iPad, the app opens, and then I am left staring at two vertical pages formatted like the one I see when I open the app on the iPhone, but with no text. I wait and wait, and no news. To read on the iPad, I get around the problem, I use a browser link to the home page. I can read the Washington Post on my Windows PC as well, again with a browser link. Yes, I faithfully install each update, test the app and ... No change. Im also running the latest version of iOS on both devices. Heck if I can make any sense of this.
I feel Im about to have a seizure each time I browse the articles. Do you guys do any QA there??
I miss the old app. This one only lets you see one headline at a time, with a description that is way too short. They try to distract you with enormous cover photos of EVERY single story. The old app was smoother and far better looking. This app is a disgusting mess. They should at least let us choose between this and the classic app. Ill stick to the mobile website.
Ill add my voice to the others here about the apps constant crashing. I like to read the Post but reading on my iPad has become a form of torture,
Type a review and it deletes it because the nickname is not unique? Real problem is the app keeps crashing. Tries to open, get title bar, crash. Tried last iOS upgrade, didnt help. Deleted app and installed fresh version, no help. Convention time and no news, not good. WaPo, we need a fix.
This is very biased media. Every article reads like an opinion piece. I just want facts, I can come up with my own opinion. Totally ignores the majority views of America.
