WaPos journalism these days is vastly improved compared to just a few years ago. Perhaps the Bezos purchase, no matter what you think of the guy, was the shot in the arm the paper required to regain its past respectable footing. Seems like WaPo is getting back to the Bernstein and Woodward-style reporting thats been abandoned by so many of the old school newspaper outlets struggling to square the new realities of the digital age.
Surprisingly though, WaPo cant get the app-side of the equation right. This digital platform is painful to navigate and visually over-complicated (despite the supposed simplicity of the tile-style article browsing). The silly rolodex graphic effect as you scroll through stories is hard on the eyes and leaves me with a slight motion sickness-like feeling. I contacted their support team to ask if there is a way to turn off the unnecessary visual effect and never heard back.
Dont download this app. Youre much better off browsing WaPos mobile site itself through safari or whatever mobile browser you use.
